BOWLING TOURNAMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Three social institutions from Shumen took part in the bowling tournament organized by association “Shining Dawn”. It took place on 20 February, 2010 at the bowling hall of complex FABULIS.

Players from the Subsidiary School for children with special education needs “Vasil Drumev”, Resource Center and Home for Adults with Mental Disabilities – Lozevo took the alleys.

Special guests of the event were Mrs. Simona Panosyan, director of the “Social politics and health” department of Shumen Municipality, Mr. Spasov – senior expert of the Regional Inspectorate in Education, Shumen, Notary Asja Asenova, and Mrs. Svetla Yancheva – member of the Governing Council of Special Olympics – Bulgaria.   

The first place was taken by Dragomir Antonov from the Subsidiary School with 113 points, Asen Victorov from Home Lozevo came second with 104 points, followed by his teammate Zvezdelin Elenov, winner of the last year competition. 

The culmination was the announcement of a player who will represent Shumen and Bulgaria in bowling at the European Summer Games Special Olympics in Warsaw (Poland) from 15-24.09.2010. The age requirement meant that the appointed Special Olympics player was to be the second place Assen Victorov.

All participants in the competition received presents from association “Shining Dawn”, and free drinks from the hosts – complex FABULIS.
